Nandan Jain’s global expansion in agriculture is a tribute to ‘Make–in–Maharashtra’–Devendra Phadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra

Chief Minister of Maharashtra inauguration the stall of NandanJain Irrigation at the 19th International Agri. Exhibition, ‘Agritech’ in Israel.

Tel Aviv (Israel)–Jain Irrigation of Maharashtra through hi–agri–technology is opening up new expressways to progress and prosperity for the farmers, not only of India and Israel but of the whole world. While inaugurating the glorious stall of NandanJain Irrigation at the world famous agricultural exhibition ‘Agritech 2015’ in Israel, Mr. Devendra Phadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra proclaimed with joy that it was a matter of pride that Jain Irrigation, a company from Maharashtra, is the principal sponsor of this world class exhibition. He gushed farther that he was particularly proud about the fact that this Maharashtrian Company (JISL) has taken forward the concept of ‘Make in Maharashtra’ with great élan not only by taking over an Israeli company, Nandan, but by promoting it to become world’s number one company in its field. Israel Agriculture Minister – Yair Shamir, Meghalay’s Chief Minister – Mr. Mukul Sangama, Water Resource Minister of Maharashtra – Mr. Girish Mahajan, Agriculture Minister of Ghana – Mr. Fifi Fiawi Kwetey, Managing Director of Jain Irrigation – Mr. Anil Jain, Joint Managing Directors – Ajit Jain, Atul Jain, Director – Dr. H.P. Singh, Amnon Ofan, Chief Executive Officer – M.S. Sndhakar were also present at the ceremony.

Mr. Phadnavis said, that the relation of Jain Irrigation of Maharashtra with Nandan of Israel was not limited only to agriculture, but this hi–tech relationship has been strengthened further by the confluence of Indian agriculture and precision water management. He assured that his government in determined to enhance agriculture and empower the farmers of the state to prosper.

He said, “Most of the agriculture is Maharashtra is rain–fed and draught–prone. Considering this the government is going to adopt ‘More Crop Per Drop’ policy by emphasizing on Hi–Agri Technology. Both, Govt. of Maharashtra and Jain Irrigation, for past 20 years, have been working jointly for the enhancement of agricultural sector. Today, about 1.5 to 2 million hectares land is under micro–irrigation and soon we are going to extend it up to 5 million hectares by emphasizing on the use of drip–irrigation. High agriculture technology, Govt. of Maharashtra and farmers have to work in unison to make agriculture really flourish. The agricultural challenges in Vidharbha, Maharashtra regions of Maharashtra can be triumphed over, I am sure, if NandanJain and Govt. of Maharashtra fight them out together’’. Mr. Phadnavis visited the Hi–Tech. Agri–Research Centre and NandanJain Plant of Jain Irrigation and got informed about their ultra modern technology. He also interacted with several farmers who had come there from various parts of India.

The 19th International Agricultural Exhibition, ‘Agritech’ commenced on 28 April 2015 at Tel–Aviv (Israel). Its main focus was on post–harvest technology and food processing. Agriculture related companies from all over the world participated in this 4 day event. over 250 farmers participated / visited this exhibition. Anil Jain, Managing Director and Ajit Jain, Joint Managing Director – Jain Irrigation, wecomed the dignitaries who visited there.
